Defever 49 Pilothouse

Arthur Defever first designed a series of trawler for Grand Banks in the 1960's which were called the Alaskans. These sturdy wooden passagemakers had a following of serious cruisers, so it was only a matter of time before similar designs became available in fiberglass. The Defever 49 Pilothouse appeared in 1977 and was built in Taiwan on a solid fiberglass hull with enough bulk to deal with rough weather. The master stateroom is under the pilothouse with the guest stateroom forward with a private head and shower for each. Powered with twin 135 hp Ford Lehman diesels, this vessel offers fairly long range potential.
